Red Cross is calling for critical blood donations to avoid a shortage
We’re being asked to consider donating blood this Easter to ensure sufficient supplies for cancer patients and emergencies.
The Red Cross Blood Service says they will need around 2,000 people to roll up their sleeves.
Spokeswoman Jemma Faulkenmire says even though people might be enjoying a break, the need for blood doesn’t stop.
“We see a spike in the demand for blood from hospitals.
“We see a significant drop off in the number of people donating bloody which makes it tricky for us.”
