Choppy Close has this week’s NRL preview and expressed his sheer disappointment over the sacking of Dragons coach Anthony Griffin.

Former Queensland rugby league legend, Chris ‘Choppy’ Close told Laurel, Gary and Mark on 4BC Breakfast that tonight’s Broncos vs Panthers clash at Suncorp Stadium “will be a hell of a game”.

“The Broncos will be out to prove something” and “the Panthers seem to have found their mojo”, Choppy Close said.

Regarding the mid-season sacking of Dragons coach Anthony Griffin, Choppy said “I think it’s really, really deplorable to do that for anybody with a job, let alone in a public position like that”.

“I think this is just a sheer slap in the face for the game, for the people and the coach”.
