Rural Fire Service: ‘we need to remain vigilant this fire season’
The NSW Rural Fire Service has urged families to discuss their fire plan in case of an emergency.
Ben Shepherd from the Rural Fire Service tells Warren Moore people shouldn’t get complacent despite the more favourable conditions this fire season.
“We’ve been quite fortunate as hot temperatures have been tempered by high humidity.
“We could potentially still have some warm and dry days so it’s important we remain vigilant and prepared throughout the fire season.”
Ben says families should discuss what they would do if a fire broke out.
“We want to encourage people to discuss what they’re going to do in the event of a fire.
“Please, have a plan. Think, ‘what would we do if a fire broke out? Where would we go?’ Make sure you have a Plan B.”
