Russia accuses Ukraine of assassination attempt on Vladimir Putin

Ukraine has denied any involvement with a drone strike on the Kremlin overnight, with an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying “Ukraine wages an exclusively defensive war and does not attack targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking the Kremlin with drones, labeling the event an ‘assassination attempt’ on Vladimir Putin.
According to local news agency TACC, the Russian government regards the alleged attack, that they blame on Kyiv, as a “planned terrorist act and an attempt on the life of the President of the Russian Federation…”
The Kremlin said that “Russia reserves the right to respond to an attempted strike on the Kremlin where and when it sees fit.”
John Stanley broke the news, pointing out that this report means the Russian administration has admitted to gaps in its defense and security.
The Russian leader’s spokesperson has confirmed that Vladimir Putin was not in the Kremlin at the time of the alleged strike.
