A Gold Coast woman is hoping to track down a good Samaritan who left her stunned when he stepped in and paid for her groceries last week. 

Giyana told Neil Breen on Brisbane Live she was shopping at the Aldi in Runaway Bay, 4.30pm last Wednesday.

She was having the “worst day ever” when she went to pay.

“I went to the register, a self-scan register … I didn’t see the sticker on the wall saying that said they don’t accept the Maestro card that I was using from overseas.

“The man next to me was trying to calm me down.”

She said she was so stunned when he leant over and paid for her.
