‘She never wanted her babies to forget her’, 10 years on since Jane McGrath’s passing
The McGrath Foundation is celebrating the announcement of its 120th breast cancer nurse, 10 years after Jane McGrath died from the devastating disease.
The organisation also revealed it’s now supported over 64,000 families who’ve been affected by breast cancer.
McGrath Foundation Ambassador and Director Tracy Bevan says it marks an important milestone for the organisation.
She tells Ray Hadley while today has been difficult, it’s a day worth celebrating.
“It’s personally a really sad day, but I told myself a few years ago that’s enough, start looking at all the good that’s happened since she’s been gone.
“So it’s really great to celebrate 120 nurses today.”
Tracy shares with Ray the touching promise she made to Jane before she passed.
“One of the things was that she never wanted her babies to forget her and I said I’d never let that happen and she said she wanted everyone to have access to a breast care nurse.
“So I actually feel good because I know I’m doing what I promised to do for her.”
