Shooting of teenager sparks manhunt on Gold Coast

A manhunt is underway on the Gold Coast as police search for those involved in a shooting.
Emergency crews found a 19-year-old man behind a Helensvale Red Rooster just after 6pm yesterday with a suspected gunshot wound to his arm.
“A lot of the young workers in the Red Rooster itself, the poor things, they didn’t know what was happening,” Today reporter Mia Glover told Laurel, Gary & Mark.
“What police have said this morning is that there were actually two stolen cars in the carpark at the time that this happened.”
Mia said it’s believed the offenders, including at least one juvenile, fled the scene in one of the stolen cars.

He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition, where detectives are in attendance.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the man in the carpark or a white Nissan Qashqai hatch in the area at the time to contact them.
