A Sunshine Coast man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a hit and run crash at Little Mountain overnight. 

Around 11.30pm, the 29-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while riding an electric skateboard along Parkview Drive.

He was located a short time later and transported to hospital by emergency services for treatment.

No vehicle was located at the scene when the man was discovered.

Police are appealing for anyone who travelled on or near Parkview Drive between 10.30pm and midnight, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
