Snowboarder to carry closing ceremony flag in Pyeongchang
22-year-old Jarryd Hughes will carry the Australian flag into the Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony on Sunday.
Hughes, who won the silver medal in the Snowboard Cross despite a five knee reconstructions, will lead the 2018 Australian Olympic Team into the ceremony.
Selected by Chef de Mission Ian Chesterman, Hughes said he felt like he was being called into the principal’s office, thinking something was wrong.
He later described the entire experience as “quite a ride”.
