Solar storm to hit Earth as massive hole rends the sun

Solar winds are travelling toward Earth at 2.9 kilometres an hour after the sun developed a massive ‘hole’.
Scientists are monitoring whether the winds will impact our planet’s magnetic field and satellites amid concerns they could interfere with the internet, phone networks and GPS.
Astrophysicist Brad Tucker told 4BC Breakfast the consequences on Earth should be “relatively small”.
