The NRL has finally released the long-awaited 2023 fixture.

Peter Psaltis spoke to the bosses at three south-east Queensland clubs to react the draw.

Dave Donaghy, CEO of the Brisbane Broncos, said they had spent a couple of days dissecting the schedule.

“It’s certainly a heck of a start to the season, Penrith away, and then our opening night against the Cowboys in Round Two against the Cowboys.

“Two big games to start the season.”

He said he imagines Broncos fans would be pretty happy, with eight of the first 10 games in SEQ, most at Suncorp Stadium.

With some games moved to the Gabba, he said the club will be in contact with members in terms of seating.

Dolphins CEO Terry Reader said it was feeling “real” with the draw on paper today.

He said they will play in eight different regions with trials and games throughout the season.

“The Dolphins brand will be spread far and wide in 2023, so a great way to start for us.”

Gold Coast CEO Steve Mitchell said they were happy overall with the draw.

“Our supporters and members, we won’t have the frequency early in the season, but they will see a lot of us at the back of the season, and that’s where arguably we need their support the most.”
