Spectators get free pass to watch Australia’s ‘future stars’ of golf
Some of the best golfers in the country have descended on Nudgee Golf Club as the Queensland PGA gets underway.
Fans of the sport are invited to spectate the tournament at the weekend with free entry and coffee on offer for the public.
PGA boss Gavin Kirkman told Sofie Formica it’s an opportunity to see the nation’s young guns play before they head overseas.
“Last week we had a local Brisbane boy, Jed Morgan, win the Australian PGA Championship, he’s out there this week; defending champ Michael Sim, he’s up there.
“The stars coming through are Louis Dobbelaar, he’s a young guy that just turned professional recently, Elvis Smylie, … Blake Windred, Blake Collyer, the list goes on.
“All these young, professional men that are getting their experience, getting their game ready to play within Australia and when our season’s finished, they launch themselves overseas.
“It’s a very exciting time this time of year to see our future stars live at the Nudgee Golf Course.”
