St. John Ambulance advocating for compulsory first aid training
St John Ambulance is urging Queenslanders to maintain their first aid training, emphasising the crucial role of first responders.
St. John Ambulance has created a petition to establish compulsory first aid training for individuals holding a learner’s license.
Bill Lyon, CEO of St. John Ambulance, told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “We’re calling on the state government to make this a no cost part to the learner drivers…it’s very important that young people and olders that are getting the license for the first time can be those responders…that first response can save a life.”
“I think that’s the thing with first aid training, we know you’ll never be a paramedic or a doctor, but it is being able to…look after them while we wait for the ambulance service,” Mr. Lyon continued.
