Government rejects My Bella Casa’s housing collaboration proposal

Article image for Government rejects My Bella Casa’s housing collaboration proposal

My Bella Casa, a Gold Coast social housing company, aimed to collaborate with the government to address Queensland’s housing issue but was declined.

Tamika Smith, owner of My Bella Casa, approached the government two years ago with a proposal to construct prefabricated social homes in Mackay but had their proposal rejected.

Subsequently, the government proceeded with its own prefabricated plans without providing any input or prior notice to My Bella Casa.

Tamika Smith told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “I was gobsmacked. I think if anything, I went if this is the table I’m sitting at that lacks this much integrity than I don’t want to be at it…” Ms. Smith continued.
