State’s bid to attract more police recruits
The state government is hoping slashing test fees will attract more recruits to join Queensland Police.
It was an election promise to boost the force by recruiting more than 2000 officers by 2025.
Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll and Police Minister Mark Ryan announced today entry tests will be free, in an effort to boost numbers.
“This will save people over $200 and we will be the only policing agency in Australia to do that,” he said.
The $215 service entry assessment and the $20 fitness test will be free for the next 6 months.
There will also be two open days, on November 5, for anyone wanting to find out more.
