Steve Waugh reveals more about ‘human computer’ Steve Smith
Former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh has revealed just how big a loss Steve Smith is but is backing David Warner to find form.
The third Ashes Test gets underway at Headingley tonight, with Smith ruled out due to concussion.
Waugh has been working with the team in the UK and tells Alan he is in awe of Smith.
“I don’t think I’ve seen anyone prepare as meticulously and professionally as he does.
“I liken him to a bit of a human computer.”
Waugh says his twin centuries in the first Test will go down in history.
“Probably one of the greatest Test match performances of all time.”

The former Test captain admits Smith will be hard to replace but says the team is right to stick with underfire batsmen David Warner and Cameron Bancroft.
“You pick someone because you think they’re the right person for the job and until you think there’s someone better then that person should get an extended run.
“This is going to be a really tough Test series that’s probably going to go down to the wire so we need guys who are fully committed.”
Waugh also had some words about England bowling sensation Jofra Archer.
“He’s got this incredible ability to deliver the ball at the body which is hard to get out of the road.
“That’s something we’ve really got to counteract in this Test match.”
