One of the most iconic treats at the Ekka is back this year and they’re selling like hot cakes.

After an urgent call-out for volunteers last week, charity CEO of The Common Good, Michael Hornby, has been thrilled with the response for people keen to help sell strawberry sundaes.

He said the numbers were looking good, similar to pre-pandemic shows.

Normally they sell around 15,000 a day.

There’s five sites you can pick up a strawberry sundae around the Ekka.

Neil was shocked to find out that 2000 volunteers help out during the week.

“It’s like a mini Commonwealth Games!” Mr Hornby said.
