A Sunshine Coast dad is well on his way to smashing an unusual Guinness World Record.

Steve Hirst was looking to smash a world record currently held by a UK man, who pushed a lawnmower 92.8km in 2019.

Steve was certain he could beat it, and he’s been at it since 7am this morning.

So far, he’s clocked 50 kilometres.

“I am hoping to get the world record by 1am,” he told Neil Breen.

It’s all to raise funds for disadvantaged and homeless young people in his area, so far he’s raised $45,500.
