A monster great white shark was spotted circling off the coast of Frenchman’s Beach at the weekend.

Former surfing champion and Stradbroke Island local Russell Specht snapped this chilling shadow last Saturday.

He’s warning beachgoers to keep an eye out as sharks migrate up the coast.

“There’s no netting on the island,” he said. “We’ve got drum lines, I think.

“Cylinder Beach is probably the safest one to swim at.”

Specht said there’s already been some close calls.
