System outage causes huge delays at Australian airports
International airports across the country suffered outages, causing significant delays and lengthy queues.
Staff are having to manually process passengers because of a widespread system outage which has affected the Smart Gate machines.
In a statement, the Australian Border Force said it is working to resolve the IT issue.
UPDATE: A number of IT systems have now been restored. We’re continuing work to bring all systems back online. Passengers are still encouraged to arrive early to allow additional time for processing. We appreciate the patience of passengers & businesses impacted by these outages
