2021 is set to go out with a bang with celebrations planned right across the south-east.

In Brisbane, all eyes will be above the river for two spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks displays.

Around six tonnes of explosives will light up the sky at 8.30pm and midnight.

“They’re suggesting to take your raincoat out if you’re going out this evening,” Brisbane City Deputy Mayor Krista Adams said.

“But that, I don’t think, is going to dampen people’s spirits.”
