Teacher’s Pet detective says Rachelle Child’s Murder ‘solvable’, while killer remains at large

The family of murder victim Rachelle Childs is today pleading for her 2001 cold case to be reopened and the reward for information increased.
The beloved 23-year-old was last seen leaving work in Camden in her Holden Commodore, running late for a catchup with mates at the pub.
Nine hours later, her body was located in bushland at Gerroa, while her Holden was found parked in the carpark of a pub in Bargo.
Rachelle’s family has fought for almost 24 years to find her killer but received no personal reply from the police minister to their bid to increase the reward from $200,000 to half a million dollars.
It can also be revealed that NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley is leading a force, where until last month, not a single serving officer was across the cold case’s brief of evidence.
Celebrated former detective Damian Loone, who helped jail Chris Dawson for murder following the ground-breaking Teacher’s Pet podcast, considers Rachelle’s case to be “solvable”.
Luke Grant is joined in the studio by Rachelle’s sister Kristy Childs and Detective Loone about the brand new true-crime podcast series: ‘Dear Rachelle’ which hopes to shed new light on this mystery.
