The Beasley’s plea to extend Jack’s Law nationwide
Brett and Belinda Beasley gave an address today to Police Ministers from every state and territory to push for Jack’s Law to be implemented nationwide.
Brett Beasley told Bill McDonald, who’s filling in for Neil Breen, on Brisbane Live that the Police Ministers “100 per cent want Jack’s Law in their states and territories… it’s a no-brainer”.
“We are not the only ones here in our state of Queensland who have this problem with knife crimes, it’s Australia-wide”, Mr Beasley said.
In memory of the late Jack Beasley who was fatally stabbed on the Gold Coast in 2019, Jack’s Law allows police to use metal detectors to search individuals for weapons at safe night precincts, public transport stations, and in vehicles across Queensland for at least the next two years.
