Neil Breen is urging politicians to read the victim impact statements from the families of a couple who were killed while walking their dogs in Alexandra Hills on Australia Day last year.

Crown Prosecutor Todd Fuller QC said the teen was under the influence of cannabis and had an estimated blood alcohol level of between .151 and .192 per cent at the time of the crash.  getting behind the wheel.

Ms Leadbetter was pregnant with the couple’s son, Miles at the time.

The defendant faced the families of Ms Leadbetter and Mr Field in court yesterday as they read their victim impact statements.

“Those victim statements are for you, Mark Ryan, and for the politicians of this state to understand the anger and the torn-apart families who are the victims of youth crime,” Neil said.

“Instead of in the days after this crime trying to talk about KitKats and 25-year sentences, dead set have a listen to yourself.”
