The Ekka will be back bigger and better this August after being called off for two years. 

The federal government has announced a $6.5 million grant for the Royal Queensland Show.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said it’s a sign people have moved on from the pandemic.

“I have a theory about this,” he said.

“I think that there was a lot of fear at the beginning of the year and then when we’ve had this challenge with the floods, … people are thinking less about COVID and more about other things.”
