With daylight saving just days away, a Gold Coast surf club boss has an idea to create a daylight saving border bubble, and bring the tourist hotspots in line with other states.

Southern states will turn their clocks forward an hour from Sunday at 2am.

But Queensland will remain the same.

Steve Edgar, the manager of the Coolangatta Surf Club, says it would be a nightmare for some locals on the border.

He said while they were used to it, he said it’s something to consider.

“I feel like because we are such a tourist area, we probably should fall in line with the daylight saving states like NSW and Victoria.”

The bubble would encompass the Gold Coast and parts of the Tweed.
