The idea to ease congestion in Brisbane’s north
A rail lobby group has weighed in on a bid to ease traffic congestion in Brisbane’s north.
A two-year investigation into how to ease traffic on the Northside came up with the option of a tunnel for traffic.
But public transport users group, Rail Back on Track, says it should be built for trains instead.
Jeff Addison from Rail Back on Track explained the idea more on Brisbane Live.
“I mean we are all for multi-modal transport, that’s fine but in this case, the trains sort of been pushed out some time around 2041.
“This corridor has been set aside for a long time.”
He said the corridor runs 9 kilomotres long stretching to Everton Park through to Carseldine in the north.
He said their group believes part of it could be tunnelled.
