Legendary music promoter Michael Chugg has given an insight into what it’s like to work with one of the greatest musicians of our time, Elton John.

He’ll be back performing in Australia in January 2023 for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

Mr Chugg said he was wonderful to work with.

“This goes right back to 2016/2017 when we were approached to be a part of the Yellow Brick Road farewell tour, and we finished about a week before COVID hit,” he told Laurel, Gary and Mark.

“There had been a couple of shows we had to postpone in New Zealand, so after months of discussion and a lot of help from Elton’s children who demanded they have these coming Christmas holidays in Australia.

“A lot of work went into it … Elton said in his very last show in Australia in Sydney that he may come back and do a couple more shows.

“So we decided to put in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and of course it all went crazy, and sold incredibly well.”

There’s also two new stadium shows in Newscastle.
