Emergency services are pleading with motorists to drive with extra care as Brisbane wakes to another day of thick fog.

A man crashed his car into a power pole in Mackenzie this morning, which caused lengthy delays and power outages.

He was taken to hospital in a stable condition just before 6am this morning.

Energex spokesperson Rob Stork said the power pole was completely snapped off.

“Our crews work as quickly and as safely as they can but there is a fair bit of work to be done there because there’s obviously a pole to be replaced and the powerlines need to be put back up as well.”

Police warn there will be very long delays as a result of the crash.

Meanwhile, a woman was taken to hospital in a stable condition following a two-vehicle crash involving a rollover on the Gateway Motorway at Murrarie.
