‘The solution is quite simple’: The idea to get pensioners back to work
There are calls to overhaul the country’s pension system amid a pandemic-induced labour shortage.
Currently, pensioners working more than one day a week at the minimum wage will have their benefits reduced.
National Seniors Chief Advocate Ian Henschke told Chris Smith “the solution is quite simple”.
He says Australia should look to New Zealand where pensioners pay tax instead of losing their payment.
