Neil Breen has been left shocked by a statistic shared by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, addressing youth crime.

“The Premier said something that was absolutely astonishing to me,” he said.

Since December, according to police operational data, 1060 adults have been charged with 1940 offences, while 818 youth offenders have been charged with 2052 offences.

Meanwhile, 4BC listener John contacted Brisbane Live after he was allegedly set upon by a group of young teens yesterday, while out on his daily walk around 5pm north-west of Brisbane.

The 61-year-old says they were trying to steal his gold chain, and punched and kicked him.

“It went on and on and on, people in the traffic were tooting and yelling at them.”

He says one of them produced a knife.
