‘This is just not fair’: Labor’s extended tax repeals would be a blow to tradies
If Opposition Leader Bill Shorten gets his way, he will scrap tax cuts for businesses with a turnover between $10-$50 million.
But it’s raised the question on whether he’ll also scrap tax relief for those with a $2-$10 million turnover.
The building industry currently employees one in 10 Australians and Master Builders CEO Denita Wawn tells Ross Greenwood the impact would be “massive”.
“You’re talking about 95% of building and construction business in Australia.
“This is just not fair. They have been guaranteed tax relief, they are working on that basis and they just simply cannot be left in the lurch like this.”
