Three charged over $200,000 stolen from a Ray Hadley listener
Three people have been charged in Victoria after allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Sydney man’s Commonwealth Bank account.
The victim informed Ray Hadley of the alleged theft which took place on October 26 last year.
He had $200,000, the deposit for a property he was about to buy, fraudulently withdrawn from his account over the counter at various Melbourne CBD branches.
Ray’s listener reported the incident to his branch at Castle Hill in Sydney’s north, but was told it was a “dispute”.
Following The Ray Hadley Morning Show’s intervention and police involvement, the money was returned.
Now three people have been charged by Victoria PoliceĀ over the alleged fraud, as well as two other similar offences.
One has been refused bail to front court on March 15.
The others have also been refused bail and will face court in May.
