Three more people have been charged after breaching the Total Fire Ban put in place during this week’s catastrophic fire conditions.

Ray Hadley has revealed a 24-year-old man was allegedly lighting candles at a Campbelltown campsite, in Sydney’s south-west.

There was an altercation when police confronted him and the man has also been charged with resisting arrest.

An 18-year-old man will also have to face court after lighting a barbeque in his backyard at Fingal Bay, just south of where bushfires are raging near Taree.

And a 28-year-old man has been fined $2200 after using a barbeque with an open flame at North Bondi.

Nine-year-old among those caught disobeying total fire ban

It comes after three men and a young boy were caught in separate incidents, also breaching the statewide Total Fire Ban.

The nine-year-old boy has been issued a warning after starting a fire with a blowtorch, near Nowra.

The other men have all been issued with $2200 fines after incidents at Wallacia, Prestons and Lalor Park.
