Three Queensland MPs at heart of Nationals net zero deadlock
The National Party will hold more talks on a proposed net-zero target following a marathon meeting yesterday.
Many in the junior Coalition partner are on board but are seeking greater assurances for farming and mining communities.
Federal political reporter Michael Pachi told Neil Breen he understands “only four people have really raised objections to this plan”.
Three of the objectors – Matt Canavan, George Christensen and Keith Pitt – are Queensland MPs.
“I do think that the Prime Minister will probably find a pathway through before he goes to Glasgow, but it’s probably going to be a bit messy getting there.”
