Three restaurants in 30 minutes: Armed robbers’ overnight crime spree
Armed robbers have targeted four separate fast food restaurants in a string of robberies in South Brisbane.
Police say the male and two females started their spree at Hungry Jack’s in Springfield around 9.30pm on Sunday.
Last night, they targeted a McDonald’s in Rocklea and two more Hungry Jack’s restaurants in Salisbury and Algester, each time threatening staff with a firearm and knives.
It’s understood they hit the three restaurants in just half an hour, making off with cash in a stolen white Ford Falcon ute.
“That ute was then later found dumped on the corner of Stapylton Road and Johnson Road at Heathwood around 11.15 last night,” Today reporter Andrea Crothers told Laurel, Gary & Mark.
“But at the moment, those three people who were armed, as well as a getaway driver, remain on the run.”
