Thunder spinner banned from bowling for three months
Sydney Thunder spinner Arjun Nair has been suspended from bowling for a suspect action.
Nair’s bowling action was reported by umpires after the Big Bash match against Hobart Hurricanes on December 30.
Early testing at the National Cricket Centre was unsatisfactory, with Nair adjudged to have shown a “markedly” different action there to the one used in the match.
As a result, he has been suspended from bowling for 90 days.
The all-rounder can still play for the Thunder as a batter.
Nair has taken nine wickets in the Big Bash at 22.7, with an economy rate of 7.06.
