Ticket sales slump over festive season
Despite the gift of giving at Christmas, ticket sales hit an all-time low over the summer break.
CEO of Big Deal Touring, Sam Righi, tells Ross Greenwood ticket sales decline between late December and mid-January as people choose family time over festivals.
“It’s also a really bad time to sell tickets this time of year. Tickets sales really slow down in late December as they do in January. People go away.”
Mr Righi says New Year’s Eve is one of the worst nights to host an event in Sydney.
“Families don’t want to spend New Year’s Eve inside Cudos Bank Arena when they could be watching the local fireworks.”
