Tim Cahill has his eyes on a new goal in retirement
Socceroos great Tim Cahill may have retired from football but he still has his eyes on the goal…
It just happens to be a very different, and arguably more important one.
Australia’s all-time leading goal scorer has been announced as the inaugural Greyhounds As Pets ambassador, aiming to re-home retired racing dogs.
Cahill joined Alan Jones in the studio to chat about the program and his new family member, adopted greyhound Lanu Moana.
I am proud to today announce that I have become the official ambassador of the @GAPNSW program 😊 I couldn’t be more excited to find these greyhounds their new homes. Find out more about the program here: https://t.co/r8aTeBkByv #GreyhoundsAsPets pic.twitter.com/GZpBba0w2e

Cahill tells Alan Jones he doesn’t just want to be the face of the campaign, he’s fully committed to making a change.
“I don’t want to just be an ambassador. I want a seat at the table, I want to be able to help make decisions for the future.”
“Our job is to get them adopted and to really educate people and to say thank you for listening to us.”
