Todd Woobridge’s revelation he was targeted by sophisticated scammers in the wake of the ongoing Medibank cyber hack has made Neil Breen take notice.

The former tennis champion said he believed he had been targeted after suffering a mild heart attack last month.

The scammers knew the hospital he had stayed in, along with other details.

“They ended up leaving me a message and the message was that I had bills to pay from the hospital stay that I had,” he told 3AW Radio.

“They knew the hospital that I had stayed in and they wanted me to ring back and give me an account number and wanted me to pay over the phone.”

Neil Breen said it was the first time he felt worried, hearing Woodbridge’s story.

“It’s the first time it’s rammed home to me, how serious these hacks are.”
