Tony Abbott volunteer stabbed with corkscrew
A man has been charged after stabbing a Tony Abbott volunteer with a corkscrew on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
At about 8pm on Friday night, several volunteers were putting up signage outside a school on Lewis Street at Balgowlah Heights.
A man turned up and started yelling abuse at the volunteers before allegedly threatening an 18-year-old man.

Police have been told he thrust a corkscrew at the stomach of a 31-year-old man, causing a minor injury.
He then started ripping down the banners, before fleeing the scene.
Paramedics treated the volunteer at the scene while police began investigating.
Within a few hours, officers arrested a 62-year-old man at a nearby home.
He has been charged with two counts of common assault and been granted conditional bail ahead of his court appearance next month.
