‘Touched a lot of hearts’: Winx to race for the final time
Champion mare Winx will run her final race this weekend at Royal Randwick.
The race is expected to be watched on by 40,000 people at Randwick Racecourse as Winx tries to win her 33rd consecutive race.
Wynx’s trainer Chris Waller tells Ray Hadley her retirement is bittersweet.
“We’ve seen the pressures involved and the expectations from everybody… the relief to have her retired going off to be a mum will be something special.
“She could easily race on… but we respect what she has done.
“She’s certainly touched a lot of hearts.”
