Tourism bosses join calls for roadmap to re-opening Sunshine State
The tourism industry has backed a call by the state’s top doctors who have demanded Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk provide more clarity on the Sunshine State opening up.
The Australian Medical Association Queensland says people need urgency to get the jab.
CEO of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council Daniel Gschwind backed the AMA’s call for the government to give locals a clear idea when borders will re-open, to encourage them to get the jab.
“The AMA is of course correct, we have to incentivise the community by telling them that it’s the vaccine that will buy us the freedoms we long for,” he told Scott Emerson.
He said it’s part of changing the narrative that the “only salvation comes from zero” COVID in the community.
He said southerners needed warning to book their holidays.
