Trade Minister pleads with businesses to stop hoarding AdBlue
The Trade Minister is issuing a fresh plea for an end to panic buying of a key anti-pollution additive that keeps diesel trucks on the road.
The federal government and fertiliser manufacturer Incitec Pivot have struck an agreement to significantly increase the local production of urea, used in the diesel exhaust fluid AdBlue.
Trade Minister Dan Tehan told Chris Smith 5,000 tonnes – a month’s worth of supply – is expected to arrive from Indonesia.
“We should be able to get back to a situation … providing enough AdBlue into this country.
“Some companies are buying more than they need and warehousing it.”
