Treasurer rejects GST complaints from NSW and Queensland
Modelling presented by state and territory Treasurers about the fairness of the GST shake-up is being rejected by the federal government.
New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT claim they could be up to $15 billion worse off under the new system.
But Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg tells Alan Jones, their own modelling shows every state will benefit.
“We don’t actually accept those numbers because the productivity commission itself has taken data from the states and territories and worked out what would be happening in the years going forward.”
