Treasurer’s warning to states threatening to shun national vaccination plan
The federal Treasurer is warning states and territories not to expect federal funding to continue if they shun the national plan for reopening.
The Queensland and Western Australia governments have indicated they would continue to lockdown even when their states reach an 80 per cent vaccination rate.
Josh Frydenberg told Ray Hadley states must uphold the national plan to support the economy and mental health of Australians.
“They’ve already agreed to it, now stick to it!
“The state premiers and chief ministers should have no expectation that our emergency economic support will continue in the scale that it is right now once we get to those 70-80 per cent targets.”
