How the social media platform will change after Elon Musk takeover
Tesla and space x owner Elon Musk has bought Twitter in a deal worth $44 billion USD.
In a statement Musk said he wants to “make twitter better with new features… changing algorithms… defeating spam bots and authenticating all humans.”
The social media giant will now become a privately held company.
Tech guru Trevor Long says the takeoever doesn’t make a lot of sense for the billionaire.
“I’m overwhelmed by it, to be honest, because it doesn’t make a lot of sense,” he told Bill McDonald on 4BC Drive.
“Twitter is the smallest as a business decision, Twitter is the smallest of all of the social media platforms, it’s growing the slowest, essentially has the least potential, and it’s a very insular platform.”
He says Musk has flagged getting rid of the bots, and authenticating all “humans”.
“I like that because I like the idea that you give some validation to the fact that these people are real and they are not just anonymous trolls.”
He predicts Musk will be eager to put his mark on it.
“There will be two things I predict.”
