The US President has asked Congress to approve the largest funding package to assist Ukraine to date.

President Joe Biden is seeking for $46 billion AUD in support for Ukraine to be approved.

The package would include $28 billion to bolster Ukraine’s military, $12 billion in economic aid and more than $4 billion in humanitarian assistance.

The White House is also seeking new powers to increase pressure on Russian oligarchs and intensify the economic campaign against Moscow.

US correspondent Harley Carnes told Neil Breen assets seized from oligarchs will be sold, with the profit added to Ukraine’s support fund.

“A lot of people don’t know President Biden’s already doing this through executive order,” he said.

“The House passed a bill that supports that. It’s symbolic, primarily.”
