NT Senator slams Adam Bandt’s ‘divisive’ press conference move
Greens leader Adam Bandt has come under fire after one of his staffers moved the Australian flag out of shot before a press conference on Monday.
Mr Bandt was asked about the move, saying the Australian flag was a hurtful symbol to many Indigenous Australians.
“For many Australians, this flag represents dispossession and the lingering pains of colonisation,” he said.

Northern Territory Country Liberal Party Senator Jacinta Price, a Warlpiri/Celtic woman, called his comments “divisive”.
“His rhetoric and his behaviour is incredibly divisive,” she said.
“I am completely over individuals like Bandt who continue to virtue signal and act as if they know Indigenous Australians … not only that but continue to paint Indigenous Australians as though we are helpless victims who can only be rescued by people like himself.”
She said the move does nothing to address the issues facing marginalised Indigenous Australians are faced with.
