WATCH | Chris tucks into some tripe for this week’s Good Tucker
To properly immerse yourself in another culture you have to step outside your comfort zone and try the local delicacies.
Chris went exploring for some traditional Irish food and found the English market, a market at the heart of Cork which has been trading since 1788.
Farmgate Cafe is located in the market and the restaurant’s owner Rebecca Harte served Chris some traditional Irish dishes.
She says they’re all about fresh local produce.
“Pretty much all of our produce, we buy downstairs,” she tells Chris.
“The idea is that we go down in the morning we buy what’s best, what’s freshest, we bring it up and we cook it.”
On the menu is some ham hock terrine, corned beef and, of course, tripe.
